WHAT IS COURT-ORDERED DEBT?

 When you are convicted of a traffic violation or a criminal offence, the court may require you to make certain payments as part of the sentence.  These payments are called “court-ordered” debt.

 

WHAT ARE SOME USUAL TYPES OF PAYMENTS THE COURT CAN REQUIRE?

Court-ordered debt can include:

  • Restitution
  • Court  fines and fees
  • Traffic fines and fees
  • Child support
