Your record will show the arrest or citation even if:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u00a0your case was <strong>Dismissed<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u00a0you were <strong>Acquitted &#8211; found Not Guilty<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>\u00a0Probation Before Judgment<\/strong> was entered<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u00a0a <strong>Nolle Prosequi<\/strong> was entered in your case &#8211; when the prosecutor decides to drop the case either before or during trial<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000080;\">your case was placed on a <strong>&#8220;Stet dock&#8221;<\/strong>&#8211; indefinitely postponed<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000080;\">If you were found<strong> Guilty<\/strong> or<strong>\u00a0Paid a Fine<\/strong> after being arrested, that will appear on your records as a <strong>conviction<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">HOW DO I CLEAN UP\u00a0 MY CRIMINAL RECORD?<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">There are three ways that a criminal record can be cleaned up, but each case must meet certain criteria in order to be eligible.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Expungement &#8211;\u00a0 is the most common way but has very strict guidelines to follow for eligibility.\u00a0 <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Shielding &#8211;\u00a0 can only be done in one court and only once in a lifetime.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Pardon &#8211; the governor can also pardon &#8211; which is extremely rare.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WHY DO I NEED TO CLEAN UP MY CRIMINAL RECORD?
